Celebrating "Bessemer Blast 2013"

Come and have a blast in Bessemer this 4th of July. Enjoy small town charm and a true hometown 4th of July festival as we celebrates “Bessemer Blast 2013.” You will find games, mud run, hometown run with tot trot, craft fair, outdoor card tournaments, relay races, karaoke, street bowling and the best parade and fire works in the upper mid-west.

In fact, our parade was identified as one "of the best Independence Day parades in the country" by the website Holidays Central (along with Bristol, RI; Alameda, CA; Washington D.C.; and Arlington, TX. You can read the article here.

This year's Bessemer Blast runs from Thursday, June 27 through Thursday, July 4. There is guaranteed excitement for every age, culminating with “Thunder on the Mountain” fireworks display on July 4th starting at 10 pm. You are sure to see old friends and make new ones.

Geocaching is back along with the Poker Run, Whiffle Ball Tournament, Lip Synching, and Dominos Fall. Unfortunately, the Demolition Derby had to be cancelled again this year. Geocache rules and locations can be downloaded here.

The 50/50 sellers will be all around town and our 50/50 tent will once again be set up in the BP gas station parking lot. Last year's prize was an amazing $23,253!

The GIANT 4th of July parade starts at 7 pm with the F16 flyover prior to the start of the parade. The last parade float will show the winning 50/50 number.
